A Galaxy Far, Far Away: Boston’s Epic Star Wars 6th Birthday Setup

When a mom tells us her son is obsessed with Star Wars, we don’t just hear “party theme” — we hear “mission accepted.”
For Boston’s 6th birthday, the request was clear: create an out-of-this-world backdrop that screams Star Wars, complete with Stormtroopers guarding the celebration and a balloon moment worthy of the Rebel Alliance (or the Empire — we don’t judge sides here).
The Vision: Clean, Bold, and Instantly Recognizable
We built a sleek black 7-foot curved backdrop — the perfect blank canvas for deep space vibes. Then we designed and printed a custom oversized vinyl decal that reads:
“In a galaxy far, far away... Boston turned 6”
(The force is strong with this one.)
The Details That Took It to Hyperspace
A dramatic half-moon organic balloon garland in classic Star Wars colors: crisp white, bold blue, and hits of metallic silver
Chrome silver starburst balloons exploding from the arch like TIE fighters zooming through the sky
Two life-sized Stormtrooper cutouts standing guard (because no galactic party is complete without the Empire’s finest watching the cake table)
Clean white plinths with golden tops for presents or treats — giving that Coruscant palace elegance
The whole setup transformed a regular garage into the ultimate photo station. Whether the birthday boy wanted to pose as a fearless Jedi or a loyal member of the 501st, this backdrop delivered.
The Result?
One very happy 6-year-old Padawan and a whole squadron of little guests ready to battle for the best slice of birthday cake.
